Looking forward to the new season

Not in terms of optimism, obviously

But I'm looking forward to that first sight of the grass...you know what I mean? When you come up the stairs and that expanse of bright green hits you?

I'm looking forward to being back in my seat in the Strawberry Corner and seeing familiar faces.

I'm looking forward to hearing the Blaydon races and Local hero (be gutted if they change that).

I'm looking forward to decent beer and chilli chips in the Collingwood then walking through Exhibition Park, joining the throng of people all heading the same way, doing the same thing...I'm looking forward to that sense of belonging.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Gallowgate flags-always looks mint and is fan-generated rather than Club initiated so it means something.

Aye, there is a whole load of stuff I could say I'm [I]not[/I looking forward to but we need some positive threads on here at the minute.

Hopefully i'll manage to catch up with June and Zoggs and maybe some other folk off here.

C'mon...what are you looking forward to about the new season?

Staying in the premier league and giving rafa benitez a great send off for doing a fantastic job under terrible working conditions, some team and fans are going to be very lucky to have a world class manager such as rafa benitez

I'm not looking forward to it at all.

I will be gutted not being there.

I might take my boy to the friendly next week as it is his 16th birthday on the Friday.... But otherwise I am about as fed up as one could get!

Well....it is in one sense. But survival isn't something to look forward to.

I'm not trying to be a happy clapper or pretending the other shit isn't happening...I just wanted to keep it out of one thread.

It's where we are I'm afraid Zipp. Its like a boxer on the ropes. You know what you need to do to get off the ropes but you have had the sh1te kicked out of you that much you can't see the way off them.
Ashley has sh1t on us time after time and we just can't see any good ahead.
But anyone looking forward to the season good luck to you.Personally I am dreading it.Relegation fight then goodbye Rafa.

I know, man...I know exactly where we are.

Just thought we could maybe have one thread where we could say something positive about following our team?

I just wonder if we are doing the team and the manager a disservice here? remember this team and manager and coaches managed to get to 10th in the premier league, fantastic achievement, under the circumstances. Yes, other teams have strengthened but expensive buys don't always work out.WE have bought, not sure what yet, but time will tell.I wont be there ,haven't renewed for the same reasons as Mick, and will miss it, but can always go back when the times right. Trying to shed some positivity here no matter how difficult it can be!
