I'm not really sure what everyone expected yesterday, we have had such disjointed preseason player wise it was always going to take a few games to sort ourselves out the worry is defensively when crosses come into the box Hegazi was really poor yesterday don't think he won a header all afternoon, we also will have to get used to having so much of the ball particularly at home, I think we need 4 players this week a centre half a midfielder and 2 strikers one of them has to have some physical presence because yesterday everytime the ball went forward we lost possession because Hal kept jetting out muscled.

Not given up 9goals, just being brutally honest. It was a shambles!

No problem with honesty or disappointment LB but surrender after one match?

Not given up. But to be brutal I am annoyed with Big Dave. That was not working yesterday.. After an hour it was crying out for an extra midfielder instead of HRK. But no changes were made only a like for like after 70 odd minutes.

whicka after a hour.you could see after 30 minutes, all the forward play broke down with HRK. we know Barnes is a young lad and as to be protected, but that was a bad move by Darren Moore. but then again what do we know.

I'm not surrendering, just alive to the monumental task that lies ahead if we are to be anywhere near the top six.

Sorry LB didn't mean to suggest you were but can understand why it read like that. I should have said I have no problem with your honesty or disappointment as that is is how I feel.

Saw a stat that in our last 6 Champ seasons where we have either got promoted or made the play offs only one have we won our first match.

That side of ours yesterday looked stale, and in some cases, unmotivated. Human nature would dictate that if your salary is halved or thereabouts, you are not going to be 100% for the cause. Best to sort out the comings and goings asap so we can concentrate on the squad going forward, which urgently needs more pace and creativity.

As an aside, would suggest the club now pull out all the stops to bring Ashworth back. By all accounts Brighton have been chasing him.
