What the Oxford fans said .....

    Barnsley fans odd bunch

I personally think Barnsley put some money in their pocket as there definitely seemed more than 1279 there. Felt more like 1280

Not the best start to the campaign. Still a long way to go. UP THE OX!!

I’d be surprised if Barnsley don’t go up

Well at least the traffic was ok to and from Barnsley, now where’s the gin...,

At least the traffic was light...

In all seriousness, it was a poor performance but I don’t think it’ll be an indicator of our season (plus Barnsley were very, very good)

OK, so the performance wasn’t what we’d hoped for, but I think Barnsley will be very tough for a lot of teams this year.

Just back from Barnsley dissapointing but onwards and upwards

Don’t think we’ll play worse tbh. Didn’t lay a glove on Barnsley really. That said, Barnsley very impressive. Thiam was totally unplayable

What could be worse than travelling to Barnsley and losing 4 0? Getting to the hotel and finding out they've cancelled the booking.

The only positive I can take is the only way is up from there. Won't see many worse performances from Oxford this season, but we won't face many better sides either. Barnsley look too good for this level.

Embarrassing the players need to man up and commit or go. Barnsley out fought and played us pushed the laws to the limit but wanted it a lot more than we did - one game isn’t a season but it’s no platform to build off

Bad result today but Simon Eastwood just got on our train at Barnsley so every cloud

I don't think you Barnsley will be below many teams this year

Barnsley have looked sensational but that doesn't take away from the poor effort from Oxford today. Only Rob Hall emerges with any credit.

Barnsley good team will definitely be up there.

Barnsley? They haven’t lost any of there players from relegation. Barnsley will be up there, no doubt about that. It wasn’t the worse performance. Rotherham at home was the worst performance and Wigan at home.

Piss poor performance from us... rob hall did lift us up! Barnsley’s too good for us esp: thiam killed us in first half!

I know it's only one match but their keeper, Eastwood, kept the score down to 4! We were outstanding with pressing, tackling, attacking etc - unplayable & it's only the start! I don't intend to get carried away but, my goodness, already a well-organised machine! Fair comments by the Oxford fans, though not sure about "taking it to the limits" comment - I still am incredulous that an Oxford player wasn't booked with some of the challenges.
At least there are none of the "teams like Barnsley" crap!

Ive been looking forward to these 'What the fans said' threads all summer.
Why didn't Oxford wear their usual yellow shirts though, although that isn't important.

I do know that Sb, but it still annoys me when teams wear an 'away' kit for no reason. Btw I reckon we'll wear the all white with dark green trim for the game at Bradford.
