    A call for Unity

Hey guys, I, like many other on here have been critical of our Manager for his tactics (or lack of them) over the first 3 matches of the season however, having had a few days to get over the debacle that was Yeovil and having given knee-jerk reactions, I have decided that we must get behind the Manager and the team and give them our full support for the next 7 matches. After all, we all want the same thing ie; success on the field and hopefully promotion at the end of the season. So what do you say guys, are you with me or not? - if after having played 10 matches and things show no sign of improvement, then we can all call for Nolan's head but until then, lets give him and the players our full support.

    Come on You Pies

100% behind this mate. IMO one of the main reasons for Notts's improvement over the past couple of years has been the POSITIVITY the fans have shown, pulling together and getting behind Big Al and Kev after enduring a few years of crap that followed the Munto Championship season. I actually got off my arse and started going to matches again after a 3 year break and I couldn't believe how much better the atmosphere was at the Lane. We do all want the same thing...

We've seen what happens when the fans are divided. It can only lead to one thing - more misery and another season heading in the wrong direction. I firmly believe Kev will get it right. He has his faults and he's made some mistakes but he's still a 'rookie' manager learning his trade. Big Al is also a rookie Chairman too. Let's get behind them and give them our backing. It's still only August FFS!

'Thats fantastic Gump' but don't you want every other supporter to get behind the team at this difficult time. Banjo has called for unity from of all of us, I too have supported Notts for over 50 years.

Glad I made you chortle gump. I've only missed 4 seasons in 41 years (including aforementioned 3 year break) so I've not had a bad innings myself to be fair. I have however witnessed a lot of those negative seasons when fans turn on a manager and/or chairman and it never ends well. Kev's a good bloke - he and Al will sort this shiit out....

    I support these sentiments.

The only qualification I would add is that the fans need to see the manager as well as his players learning lessons from events so far. Nolan's post-match comments the other night were all about individuals making the right decisions and drilling this into them on the training ground, which is undoubtedly part of the answer, but Nolan himself also needs to make the right decisions, which includes recognising that his tactical set up this season isn't working and needs to change. If we start next Tuesday with the same formation we did against Yeovil, he's making a rod for his own back and supporters' patience will be tested.

So yes, we do need unity, and the fans need to play their part, but the management and players hold the key to turning this around and giving us reasons to get behind them.

Fans always think they know better than the manager especially when things go wrong. But when almost every one can see we have needed at least one good central defender for quite a few seasons now why asn't this been rectified? It is so frustrating.
