MillersMad Matchthread - The Millers v Millwall

This fixture will have been one of those where our management team will have put a big circle round as a game we can win.

BUT could anything have gone so much in the favour of our oposition? Is there a team so isolated in the football pyramid as Millwall in the way that their fans react, behave or expect?

Their reaction to being feared as a club bigs up their reputation. To play this match early on a Sunday plays right into their hands! It's idol work from SYP to move this fixture to Sunday when it appears that every other body involved in football wanted it played at the normal time of 3 o'clock on the Saturday! If the Police wanted to make a point they should have banned the supporters of Millwall from coming full stop. Another solution is to hold their fans back in the stadium for ten minutes after the match.
The Police have given the advantage to Millwall today! Their manager has had his pre-match motivational speach already written!

We know what a small percentage of their fans are capable of and we know what to expect from them. We also know how to behave in these situations. Be sensible and don't get involved!

On the pitch we also know what to expect! We know that they are going to press high up the field. Can our defenders and midfielders cope with this style of football? Bloody hope so because today we're in for a battle! It is not the day to shrink Millers! It's the day we stand up tall and battle for everything! We have to play it simple and the way we're facing because if we try any fancy stuff we're going to be closed down so quick that we're going to be in trouble!

Jees! I sound so negative today but I know that we can win this! We have to be strong and see out the first twenty minutes. After that we will grow into this game and come out on top.

    Enjoy the match folks.

What a ridiculous kick off time for a game between one club from South Yorkshire and the other from London , beggars belief .

Froglet, stirring speech as always. I think you will find that South Yorkshire's finest will have made this a cat A game due to the travelling opposition. Muster in the fact Weds were at home yesterday with a far larger crowd to monitor., plus last years debacle and it is easy to see why this was made a Sunday game.

Their train doesn't get into Rotherham from Sheffield while 12pm so no pre drinking time for their lot may lessen any outbreaks of sporadic violence. Straight to the ground and easier to manage. There's also the fact it may put some of their travelling idiots off and not to bother at all today.

One thing is for sure, and that is Warne must set up to take the game directly to them and not have us soaking up the first 20. Whether or not he goes for it will show with the team selection. Please Warne, not another 4-5-1 at home!!!

I hope we play well and get the 3 points today (ok the 3 points will do) because the match hasn't got much else going for it. Ridiculous day to play and a ridiculous ko time. No pre-match pint and it's raining.
Still - I'd rather be there than not. Come on lads, cheer us all up. UTM.

Can you see the stewards on the trains stopping them drinking or taking stimulants that don't come in liquid form.

Palmer is replaced by Raggett which must mean that Ajayi is in midfield

    Taylor is replaced by Vassell

Confirmed from the stables mouth. towell won't be coming. Brighton would sell for 250k. Towell wants double the wages of our top earners.
