At least it's not a top-flight side for a change but that'll be a tough tie even at home - and if we get through there will be no simple path available given the other ties. Not great.

Well we shoud wait until this tie is done with before we start worrying about our path through the tournament.
Regardless of that, we SHOULD win this tie and no excuses will suffice if we don't. We are at home to a lower league side, we need to win this. Yes it'll be tough, but if we are worth our salt on the day we will progress and anything less is unacceptable.
Fair point but I always find the 'dream' is much more fun if there seems a remotely viable way we could win it...and the way the recent draws have gone, knowing that even if we won a quarter-final we'd join semis with three of the strongest sides in the country fair took the edge off the expectation.
I'll give my usual fiver to the bookies when I bet us for a cup win. Surely one day it will come up.
I agree and it's frustrating that Celtic, Aberdeen, Rangers, Hearts and Hibs have all been handed easy/very favourable draws and will all more than likely be in the next round. Indeed that's been the case, or it at least seems like it's been the case in all of the recent cup competitions, that the strongest sides all avoid each other and get easy draws in the early rounds. We just need to do our bit and beat Ross County, otherwise what happens after this round will be irrelevant to us.
It'll be a tough tie although home advantage should count. Yesterday was a fine a dress rehearsal for the tie as both Aberdeen and Ross County are physically robust teams. Good to see us try to play football yesterday although we didn't fully succeed. Still the 3 points were more important than the manner in which they were earned.
The current structure of the League Cup means that will happen more often than not. There's room for some luck in the Scottish but obviously not last year and, barring a wad of shocks, not this season either.
