Loan system good way of getting some of the younger players, experience / game time & and the whole ups and downs of league football - but with the clubs present position, lacking numbers in defence , should one or two have been given more of a chance to prove themselves, with their parent club?

Shaughnessy - handful of games, some dodgy bits, but generally ok
O"Connor -pretty much as above, if anything looked more assured
Halme, seems to be rated above these two, but surely one of the others, would have been better as backup CB, than even younger Davis , Forshaw or Phillips.

Even Tom Pearce seems to have fallen down the pecking order, injuries yes, but showed some real flair towards end of last season, can see him moving on, once Douglas / Berradi and possibly Davis return. Then there is Lewis Coyle, we maybe have weathered the storm at RB, but has Shackleton already gone ahead of him in MB thinking.

Yes MB & co see players day to day in training, & matches, but we are lacking bodies in defence, some reports say club is tight for funds again, so why not see, if maybe one or two, could go all the way etc.
