ot UKIP lose ground in local elections

The results didnt make sense to me. I thought wed see a huge shift to Ukip. But they lost seats while the remain parties made the most ground. The thinking was that Labour would get slaughtered but its the Cons who took the biggest hit.

Hi, WanChai. Not sure where you derived your pre-election analysis from. Here most predictions had the Tories to lose around 1000 seats and Ukip to lose heavily - largely due to defection of Farage and others, continual infighting and association with Tommy Robinson et al and statements by candidates about raping Labour women MPs. Labour imo is in deep trouble. The majority of new members (many now leaving) are educated, young, Metropolitan, internationalist and opposed to Brexit. The old Labour heartlands have voters pretty much diametrically opposed to these views.

Surely the credibility of politicians generally are at an all time low?

Old style politicians yes. But my new councillor is a transgender Green activist with some excellent fresh perspectives.

Even though at times we’ve disagreed
You are one of my favourite posters on here.
Intelligent articulate and humorous at times.
Also you say it like it is you reply to the subject rather than the person.
    Good to have you back.

PS. Get behind the manager you know it makes sense.

Thank you, Pocket, although I'm worried that you think I have been humorous at times. Serious times call for serious men which is why poor old Monty had to go. I shall try to be less harsh on PW although I draw the line at hugs.

I'm as surprised as you are, gm. After several years in the Footymad gulag Wendun's account was suddenly reactivated so I felt obligated to readmit the prodigal son.
