    OT: new pubs coming

Three Cranes Inn on the high street, and maybe one in Imperial Buildings.

I bet those that moved into the residential flats above in the Imperial Building are really looking forward to that!

Normally I would agree, town centres need to be more residential than commercial, but in this case, as an interim measure a niche market sports bar seems a good idea.

However, what is the target market and how are they going to get there?

Cheers FC, I was trying to keep it quiet so that I’d get served quicker on match days

Probably best way to go in pubs/cafes etc, not going to do much in retail when they let The Waverley build one

MT the queues will depend on prices and which league we play in. I doubt the sports bar is going to be selling smooth and carling for £1odd a pint so that removes the masses, and if we're in anything other than the championship then no need to worry about away fans.

Thinking about it they opened two of these micro pubs right below the flat where my daughter lives in Barnsley and she's not complained of the noise or anything despite them being very popular. However, if she takes after her Dad she could probably sleep in the bar and not be woken up

Most micropubs wouldn't be big enough to get a drumkit and a stack of amplifiers in, so if there is live music played , it is unlikely to cause much disturbance

Wandered into Wath Tap one afternoon a couple of years back and raised an eyebrow or two. Don't know if it was because I was a strange face (in more ways than one) or because I'd been to the Red and White shop that day and was carrying a Miller's carrier bag

That place has gone to the dogs, literally, you can’t have a drink there without a dog sniffing around your (enter body part of your choice)

The owner of the place can often be seen drinking in ‘spoons just up the road.
