    Music college

Anybody have any info regards the music college that was off Ellon Road, possibly Corunna Road if memory serves me right?

I went there many years ago but it appears it's no longer used if google searching is serving me correct.

    Cheers

Part of the then Aberdeen College (now NESCOL) inside the Gordons' barracks?

The college moved its music section to Gallowgate about 7 or 8 years ago when it built a bespoke construction teaching facility at its Altens premises, leaving room for further centralisation at Gallowgate (or Gulagate as those of us unfortunate enough to have been staff during the former regime referred to it).

It had a good reputation in what it did, and I used to have to sanction the expenditure of sending someone to gen up on new issues of ProTools with Peter Gabriel's studio engineer. I signed without hesitation, of course. Were you taught by Eddie Keith at all?

I think if my old brain is working correctly then it was 2002 I went there for a year.

Tony, and I have no idea what his surname is, taught me and I had a great time as it was my first experience of living away from home as a native Weegie.

Sadly though it all fell apart in too many nights out and I had to return home after that year.

    Great times though!!

Tony Young. Good guy, very committed. Still at NESCOL as Curriculum Manager for the subject.

Ah ok, I'm sure I would've known his surname back then but I'd never have guessed it was that. After doing a quick google search of him then I can confirm he is the very geezer (I think, still quite hazy from those days)

Regrets and all that but it still rankles me I never appreciated how great a course it was and subsequently misspent a large chunk of my time there.

One thing I do recall was Rachel who worked there, not engaging and chatting with her is similarly a massive regret.

I'm struggling to work out where I said I fu(ked up my life but if that's what you take from it then cool.

I regret the music aspect as I still enjoy playing the guitar but I'm 100% certain that my playing could be of a standard far exceeding what I'm playing just now. And I'm sure everybody has a regret concerning the opposite ***, perhaps with the exception of yourself as it appears you're still to have your first dalliance in that department.

And finally please pass on my regards to Rachel, must be amazing to be with a girl who knows she isn't satisfied ***ually but still stays with you anyway. You've won a watch there mate!
