Wrinkly should remember this
Stopped trading in 1960? Rotherham number plate too. Not seen by me in Brinsworth - I'd have only been a toddler then anyway. We did have the Walls Ices tricycle though - good stuff!

I myself remember it very well, It used to be garaged up at the top of the street I lived on in the 50s , Chemist Lane. It didn't get used very often and caused quite a bit of excitement with the local kids when it did, mainly Sundays . Reboris had a fabulous ice cream parlour just around the corner on College Rd, Art Deco , though I didn't know that was the fancy name for it in those days. I may have posted on Reboris in the past but can't remember If I had access to the photo on that occasion.
...
Brilliant!... and the bloke used to shout "Walls Ice Cream" as he cycled along the street... and ring a bell, I seem to remember. I know that the photo looks like something from about 1890, but it was like that in Brinsworth in the early 60s

Brinsworth - the land that time forgot...
Don't remember anything other than a motorised van selling ice cream in the fifties - pretty much like what we see today. We obviously crept a little more quickly into the twentieth century up at The Brecks
(Great picture by the way Lincs. You should post that on the "Rotherham, I remember when" page on Facebook. You'll get a zillion replies.)

There was later a motorised tricycle version too. Of course, there were "normal" ice cream vans ((Mr Whippy, etc) driving around at that time too, but not as interesting, and I preferred Wall's Ice Cream anyway
