    Match ratings vs Chesterfield

Been a while since I did one so here goes

Slocombe...6.. Have very little to do all game.. handling was ok and kicking adequate
Brindley.....7..Notts best player on the evening which is not saying much
Bakayogo...6..Not good or not bad.. should of offered more going forward but had an off day
McCrory.....5..Barely heard his name all game..seen him play a lot better than this
Turner.......6..Headed and kicked it clear, few decent blocks, always solid
Rose..........5..Horrible miss at the very end and offered very little all game once again
Doyle........6..Tried hard and kept rousing players around him... didnt do anything of note to stand out
Dennis......5..Largely anonymous the whole game... little or no service to work off
Boldewijn...5.. Everybody's favorite scapegoat didn't do himself any favours today... did nothing to influence the game
Wootton....6..Held the ball up well and some decent touches, offered nothing as a goal threat.
Shields.....5..Another player I forgot was on the field, offered the forwards no service at all

    Subs
Booty.....3.. Set pieces were terrible, swung 2 crosses into the crowd from decent positions... off day to put it mildly
Thomas..3.. Did nothing in his time on the field, did he even touch the ball?
    Tyson..n/a... not on long enough

All in all that was a shocker... Chesterfield are terrible and we caused them no problems at all, a shocking performance in from of a huge away following... it seems evey time we are on tv we forget to show up

Chesterfield were easily the worst team I've seen this season mate. 4, the lot.

Shocking display - we were poor all over the pitch and ps Navy is right about Enzio

Slocombe...6 - Let down by his defence for the goal, nothing to do otherwise.
Brindley.....5.5 - poor game defensively and going forward. He is better than this.
Bakayogo...6 - Average game, unlucky to be taken off.
McCrory.....6 - gave their forward too much space for the cross the led to the winner, otherwise ok.
Turner.......6.5* - basically did his job well, my MOTM award is more down to the lack of opposition.
Rose..........5 - again dithered on the ball and too many poor passes.
Doyle........6.5 - always available for a pass, but offered nothing creatively.
Dennis......5 - far less lively than of late, missed our best chance.
Boldewijn...6 - looked our best chance of creating something.
Wootton....5.5 - a couple of good bits but overall he was disappointing.
Shields.....5 - didn't beat his full back and his crosses were catching practice for their keeper.

    Subs

All of them 5 - they did nothing to change the game.

Overall a poor performance against a team who offered very little. We looked good until the final third where they defended with ease. Getting nothing from a game like this is something that Ardley needs to address quickly.

I don't think anyone stood out that badly as a bad performance other than Rose and maybe Shields, Rose's reaction time is non existent, gets caught on the ball so often, the only thing he does well is pass it wide to Brindley and even when he does that he never plays it in front of him.

Dennis coming off the bench with a point to prove and making runs in behind Haydn Hollis should have been the plan today, we didn't have anyone run in behind him until right near the end when he gave away two freekicks and was booked for the second, how on earth our gameplan wasn't to exploit how sh*te he is I don't know, whenever we tested him on the floor he looked every bit the player that wasn't good enough when he was here.

We missed that cutting edge once we got into the final third, someone like O'Brien or Booty in the middle to pick out the runner would have cut them open so easily but playing for crosses all game made it far too easy for Chesterfield. They didn't really threaten us at all in the first half other than the goal and I don't think they did much in the second half either.

Wow, Freeman forgot to add how brilliant our Dutch winger was.

My first away game for a while, what a waste of time. I think there was some complacency, we thought we could just turn up, knock it around a bit in front of the cameras and the chances would come.

I don’t think Chesterfield were as bad as some think, they let us play in front of them first half and tried to hit us on the break, and the second half was pretty even. Their set pieces were much better.

As regards ratings 5 for everyone, except maybe Turner and Slocombe who were 6. Rose was awful again and why did Brindley insist on knocking it inside instead of running into the acres of space he sometimes had in front of him?
