What on earth is Bruce doing to our players.

If you spoke to most knowledgeble fans they would mostly agree that our defence is fairly sound.

Not without fault but certainly stronger in depth than either midfield or up front.

To my mind this is what Rafa mostly relied on while trying to improve the other weaker areas.

Under Bruce the midfield and so called attack hasn't improved and yet the defence has gone backwards at a rapid rate of knots.

As a defensive stalwart for many years at the top you would think he knew what he was doing or supposed to do. How long can it go on before the situation gets serious.

Unfortunately, and despite being a good defender himself, he has a reputation at many of his former clubs of not being able to set up a defence well.

It was our midfield that cost us the game. No pressure, parting like the red sea and saying go on Grealish, you have the ball and acres of space to play with no pressure at all.

The game was made ridiculously easy for him. We made him look like freaking Zidane ffs.

Shelvey should be sold and replaced in January full stop. Hayden is just not good enough and can't pass the ball 5 yds.

Bring the Longstaff brothers back in the middle of the park. Or better yet play Almiron at No.10 and see how he performs in his best position. Or ASM who claims No.10 is his best position too. Although both should be dropped to give others a chance as they've done nothing in terms of goals for us this season.

Shelvey had his normal game last night, he is piss poor for 9/10 games so how long can we or do tolerate him in our midfield. He has to go and we have to rethink our midfield set up as although our front 3 are ineffective, they aren't being helped by the midfield.
Also, how long does he persist with Atsu. He is woeful and we often don't have a bench that can reverse the result once we have to come from behind.

So it seems. 2nd least amount of goals scored in PL so far I think and defence is not as steady.

    Where is the improvement?

Though AV did invest heavily in the summer to be fair, but then if the club are to be believed, so have we in the calendar year. Taking out the annomalies of Manchester and Spurs, last night I think showed in full HD colour where we actually are.
