Sort of OT - Sports Personality Of The Year

I Love The Rams, but I LOVE cricket

Bloody Ben Stokes though, reduced me to tears twice this year

    Soft sod!

‘The boy done well’ as they say...especially given where he was a year or so ago.

You mean they actually didn't just hand it over to someone who drives cars round in circles? Outrageous, a proper sportsman winning it

Yawn. They chose not to do a UK Sportsman of the decade but if they had, Hamilton would be it

I defy you to go and do a day's training with Lewis Hamilton. F1 drivers do an awful lot af stamina and strength training at a very high level. Far more, it seems, than people appear to think.

As long as motor cycle racing, F1 etc are deemed to be a sport then their participants are sports-men and -women.

Looks like you scored a brace there GP! On a similar note, the team award also going to the England world cup team is well deserved, if only our dear Rams could show such bottle

A good bit of fishing, indeed.

I'm not sure about me training with Hamilton, I'd struggle to match a day's training with the immortal Jocky Wilson.

But my point does not relate to training. It's more related to the environmental damage that the activity causes and encourages. All motorsports, except E sport, should be banned. Would you then award SPOTY to a scalextric sportsman?

With the growth of E sports, including now Scholarships to US Colleges and Universities for "gamers" and the multi million pound/dollar annual World Championships in things like DOTA and Fortnite among others, it is almost inevitable that "a scalextric sportsman" or similar will win the award at some point in, quite likely, the not too distant future.

It's Sport Jim but not as we know it.
