An afternoon at the Spa- Bath City v Billericay Town yesterday.

Those of you who have read my match reports in recent months will know that I have taken an interest in the fortunes of Billericay Town in the National League South. Yesterday I made the comparatively short journey across the Prince Of Wales Bridge to watch this game at Twerton Park. This once was the home of Bristol Rovers for several years and hosted a Cup tie between Rovers and Liverpool in the early 90’s. The stadium looks a bit tired these days but BathCity appear to have a decent following ,as proved yesterday with an attendance of 995. The result was a 2-1 home win with the home side fighting back from a goal down to eventually net the winner with just a few minutes of injury time left. Billericays goal was scored by Noel Williams , son of Gifton who is currently the assistant coach at New Lodge. Clarets fans will remember that name for sure. I stood in the home section wearing a blue and white scarf, and it’s great to be able to do that with no worries about any hassle. It also seems strange that fans pass each other at half time to swop ends so that they can be behind the goal that their team is attacking. Like many other genuine football fans, I get a lot of fun watching games at this level, and will continue to do so in future. Singing Aye Aye Ricky Ricky Aye !

Sounds more appealing every time I read these reviews.
