    Calling refs to order...

Dunno about everyone else but I am pissed off with the standards of officials over the last couple of years. Nowt gets done about it either. In any other profession you would have sanctions for ballsing up but these idiots seem immune to it. I know you can't do much about it on the pitch at the time without VAR but there is plenty of evidence on video afterwards nowadays. I am not saying that we should amend scores after the game but refs and linesmen should still be punished after the game. Why not have a points system for the type of balls up they have made and the effect it has had on the game. When they get to a certain number of points ban or fine the feckers. They might be motivated to ref properly then. I accept refs are humans and can make occasional cock ups but a points system could allow for the odd cock up. Persistently crap refs should be brought to account. If they aint good enough they shouldnt ref simple as that. I could have reffed better mi chuffin sen yestertday.

Under my system the ref yesterday would have used up half of his total allowance on one game alone. Worra wonker!

Sadly Roly these blokes are only human and can only give a decision if they see it. if you look back at yesterday game the majority of decision were correct. Though at the time, we as fans felt most were wrong.
The decision that were wrong yesterday were 90% due to the linesman (woman)
Gov body has brought in measures to try and improve the decision making and most fans don't like that..

IMO doing what you suggest would make things worst over time and force us down the more electronic route of decision making.
Though I don't have the answer to improving things short term

The lineswomen yesterday couldn’t keep up with play. That’s unforgivable.
It’s a difficult job we all know that however some of the decisions are either down to incompetence or cheating because they simply don’t make sense to anyone but them.
The 2 women yesterday did more damage to women in football than any ***ism or discrimination could ever do.
They were out of their depth and not quick enough to keep up with play.

Do you think they deliberately ref badly.

Dunno Wanchai but the number of bad decisions we get compared to other teams at NYS makes you think summat aint quite right. When was the last time we scored from a dodgy offside? How many penalties are we given and the opposition teams given for similar offences. I watched the Southend game and was puzzled why they were given a pen for a debatable hand ball and we got nothing for something more obvious later in the game. We should have also had a pen against blackpool. It goes on and on. I wouldn't mind if refs were consistent. If things evened out over the season I
could live with that but they don't...

The standard this season maybe more than ever before has been disgraceful. I'm absolutely sick of sh@t refs and linesmen/women. We're not seeing any consistency or fairness. It's as though they have it in their minds that Rotherham are a physical side which is the polite term for a bunch of thugs and cloggers, so they're not taking any sh@t from Rotherham, and if there's any pulling and shoving on our players, we'll they're big thugs, they can take it.

The stall was set out on the first game of the season at Wimbledon, that fat walrus of a ref rarely left the centre circle. I dread to think how bad the standard is further down the pyramid these days.

We had it last season in the Championship where nearly all refs seemed to favour the bigger clubs, probably as a glowing report from say Aston Villa is worth more to them than a bad report from RUFC.

But then I think 'who would be a ref these days'? Why would anyone want to do it? They're under more public scrutiny than ever before, they get never ending abuse from the stands. Still no excuse for not doing the job to a high standard though. The rules probably don't help. Common sense has been replaced by a more uniform, robotic appliance of 'the laws of the game'.

We used to laugh and joke about foreign refs and how bad they were compared to our own, now ours are the laughing stock. Maybe we should start importing match officials from overseas

Before anybody calls me a mardy arse by the way, you only have to go on twitter and see the reaction of a lot of millers fans to the officials yesterday and in general over the season.

I don't think refs deliberately ref badly it's just that some are pressured into giving or not giving decisions when games are rigged.
There's too much money involved in football for some not to be rigged.
Refs can't miss so much obvious incidents without there being an external influence.

I also agree that it's better for them to favour the big clubs. As someone has already said it's a lot less grief to be criticised by PW than the Manager of Hull. The refs also know that TV pundits will analyse decisions given against a big club a lot more than a small one.

The ref was garbage but I actually thought the ginger lino was Ok, apart from the obvious goalkeeper handball.
