Which one of our players will go on to do great things?

A lot of people are saying Saint-Maximin will become a superstar etc.

But what does that entail - a superstar with us, or for PSG/Barcelona/Man City?

And who else will advance from the level we're at?

For instance, I doubt Lascelles will ever succeed at a bigger/more ambitious club than ours. I used to believe that, but now I think this is his level.

The jury is still out on the Longstaffs IMO. They are both good players, but I wonder if they can make the step up.

    Joe Linton not looking likely.

Out of our current players, I think Schär, Lejeune and Dubravka are of the most quality, and could play at "bigger" clubs.

Dubravka for me is world class. Hopefully he's dropped anchor at NUFC and he'll be paid accordingly. Schar is a great player as well.

Agreed, Dubravka particularly is in a different league. Transfer rumours can generally be a bit crazy and far-fetched, but I didn't think twice when he was linked with Juventus. I think he could make it there, but I'm glad he's decided to stay with us.

Doubt he'll pe paid accordingly though knowing the cheapness of Fatso

Aye. 'Paid accordingly' was kinda tongue in cheek. 😎

    dubravka
    schar
    shelvey (in the right team)
    almiron

    saint maxim

the longstaffs are playing on them being locals ,having watched them at oxford they had nothing that indicated to me they were good enough for anything above us ,they couldnt look great against an oxford side
it was his first game for us but i think bentaleb will play well with shelvey

    Dubravka certainly.
Lejeune and Schar could go on to be top players if they get under a good manager (!)

I don’t think the Saint will ever become top class. He has a lot to learn and I would swap him for, say, Zaha in a heartbeat (and the latter isn’t world class).

the taxi driver was having a right go about aLMIRON and the lads said he would become a decent player ,i kind of agreed but the driver wasnt having any of it
when one of the lads said had you seen him he said no i dont go to games anymore since they sold Cole

Almiron has been a disappointment overall. His first six months were a failure overall, and now he's showing signs of improvement which is great. He will never advance to a much higher level than this, IMO.

You can't fault him for his effort, but the same can be said about Manquillo. Harsh, I know, but effort doesn't warrant quality.
