Been talking about this today and whether he can still permit the HS2 project to carry on, and help the regions as promised. Boris has problems everywhere, and has his work cut out to keep the country functioning. Let's hope he can find and appoint the best possible people to help him out.

Brexit seems like such small beer now.

The “shock” the economy was supposedly going to suffer after Brexit is a pin prick compared to what’s now happened.

Covid-19 will make Brexit a mere afterthought in the years to come......it’s an irrelevance in comparison.

We may be better placed now and more nimble which is going to be needed.

The need to bailout and support hardest hit countries like Italy and Spain is going to be a massive drain on Germany and France in my opinion.

This was always a worry with the EU, they have even sent Italy a huge bill over something else during their suffering! Seem to be totally inept at noticing other countries plights. Free without interference is going to be essential now.

Boingy they imposed a fine of 80M euros on Italy with a daily penalty of 28k until they pay up - callous beyond belief. They have also failed to agree on how as a group of nations they will work together to support the bloc with the economic implications being different between them.

I think it took 74 years for us to payback a loan we took during WW2 - instinctively this situation worldwide feels almost as bad by the time it comes to an end and the accounts are scrutinised.

"with the economic implications being different between them"....That's why it can never work. Each country is unique, with its own unique considerations. Whatever is best for each country especially at a time like this is paramount.

I don’t think that the UK will come to an agreement with the EU over a trade deal by the end of the year, which will mean that we will effectively leave the EU with a ‘no deal’ situation. With regards to the money that the EU wants off us, we’ll, that discussion could become very acrimonious.
