    R.I.P “Bite yer leg’ Hunter

Sad to hear that Norman Hunter has been taken by this dreadful disease. Have great memories of him playing for Leeds & England - one on the best. R.I.P Norman

    RIP.

Great memories, including his spat with a certain bog roll magnate

So glad I'm old enough to remember players and games like that, RIP Norman, he was one of many hard hitting characters in football at that time, mind you he had his hands full with Franny Lee in that video who appeared to have extremely fast hand speed, what I would call a telephone box fighter!

My main memory of 'bite yer legs' was the 1973 World Cup qualifier v Poland. A game I spent watching from behind the sofa, just couldn't look...

3:06 oh dear, no biting there over by the touchline, not even a nibble

I can recall the night Notts beat Leeds 1-0 at Elland Road in the League Cup. At the final whistle, Norman Hunter stood near the players tunnel and shook the hand of every Notts player as they came off the pitch.

Not just a great player but a great bloke too. R I P.

Franny Lee's diving was awe inspiring . Overstated, and theatrical, but very high on artistic expression "Lee Won Pen"

My all time favourite non-Notts match would be the 1970 FA Cup final replay between Leeds and Chelsea, proper football. Much prefer watching a really good foul than some fancy dan skills, just a shame the wrong team won. How did we allow the game to become what it is today?

Leeds were my second team, I even married a lass from there. Norman was my favourite player a quiet gentleman off the pitch, hard as nails on it. Saw them play a few times especially when they beat Man. Utd in the cup semi final replay at the City ground.
Mind you it was great when we went there and beat them 1-0 in the league cup.
