    A Tale of Two Teams

Two promotion winning teams, Burnley 13/14 and Burnley 15/16.

Which was the best, impossible to pick between them, their records were uncannily identical, both of them,

    P46, W26, D15, L5, 93pnts.

Their home and away records were identical, both of them,

    Home, 15-6-2
    Away, 11-9-3

They scored the same number of goals 72, the only slight difference over two full seasons was the 15/16 team conceded 2 goals fewer, 35 against 37.

The most usual line ups were,

    13/14,
    Heaton,
    Trippier Duff Shackell Mee
    Kightly Jones Marney Arfield
    Ings Vokes

    15/16
    Heaton
    Lowton Keane Mee Ward
    Boyd Barton Jones Arfield
    Gray Vokes

Although to me the 15/16 team looks marginally stronger on paper, I prefer the 13/14 team, that was a wonderful season, I'd love to live through that again, but it's just a personal thing, that's all it can be, the stats say if they'd have played each other it couldn't have been other than a draw.

    What do you think ?

    Very similar Sinvov.

I loved watching the Trippier/Ings/Vokes team and, for me, had slightly more flair.

The 15/16 team certainly looks stronger in defence and Joey galvanised the team.

I find it impossible to choose. If I had to pick our best eleven from the two teams it would be...

    Heaton
    Trippier, Keane, Mee, Ward
    Boyd, Barton, Marney, Arfield
    Ings, Vokes

Mind you, our current team is not bad either - common denominator is Sean.

Enjoyed both seasons very much although the 13/14 team did have more flair with Ings having more skill than Gray. Sam and him seemed to develop a real understanding and much of their play seemed to be automatic.

Just happy to have been able to watch two smashing sides being managed by Sean.

Amazing stats those sinkov. SD obviously has a game plan and ensures his players stick to it?

    For the record:
    Heaton,
    Trippier, Keane, Mee, Ward,
    Boyd, Barton, Marney, Arfield,
    Gray, Ings.

That lot would take some beating methinks.
