Well CT has set a high bar with No 46. I'll post new clues regularly (at least daily). I won't be responding to guesses until someone is correct. Guess as many times as you like. There's no O/T in the title so obviously it's football related. Here we go. Good luck.
I had much more success as a manager than as a player.
I wasn't there at the time, but the team I spent most of my days with were involved in one of the closest League Titles ever.
I didn't play for Barnsley but another player with my name did.
An injury gained in unusual circumstances interrupted and possibly ended my time at the top.
My biggest move as a player was to a team who are more often than not misnamed.
I gained a cult following during my most successful period as a player which continued online 20+ years later.
I once managed a team to promotion after only one game in charge.
Signing a colourful character was the beginning of the end for me at one club.
My name had the fans channeling their inner Chicory Tip (I think?).
I played at the highest point in English professional football.
Dorothy's dog sang about a place where I spent almost half of my time in management.
