In the Bundesliga and the Premier League, broadcasters are offering viewers the option of watching games with or without artificial crowd sounds pumped in.

If you had asked me a few weeks ago before the first game back, I would have expressed a preference for hearing some crowd noise, but I'm surprised to say I now prefer just the ambient noise from the players and staff in the stadium.

Obviously football will not be 'normal' until the fans return in person, but in the meantime I feel more comfortable with the viewing experience being 'real' rather than 'created'.
