    Damp squib

...the final championship games of the season today will not prove much at the bottom of the league because at 10pm toneet we will still not know who has gone down for sure due to possible points deductions.

Not only is there the potential Wigan points deduction there is also the piggys. I also understand Reading, Charlton, Derby and Brum could also lose points.

As regards us it would probably be better if these teams took the hit next season but you have to feel a bit for Barnsley and Luton particularly who are making a fist of it in a fair way.

Surely it's got to be next season,if they do it now & none of the teams that get points docked go down then what's the punishment (none).

    Sensible suggestion......
Just dock every team in the cship 12 points for next season except us as they all seem to be at it

EFL are waiting, hoping, praying that SW, Wigan, Reading all get enough points to survive with -12 and then they will act swiftly, deduct the points this season, nothing changes, job done.

I don't think Wednesday can get enough points to survive with -12 can they?

Actually they can if SW win, Wigan lose and also get -12

Reading could stay up on goal difference if Barnsley and Hull dont win and Wednesday were also deducted -12. As long as Wednesday don't claw back an 11 goal difference.

Yes, many permutations exist simply because the EFL have been fiddling while Rome burned. It should have been sorted long ago.

I reckon any 3 out of about 10 clubs could go down depending on results tonight and potential points deductions. Even if you are in the bottom 3 at 10 pm tonight you might still have a chance of staying up that is how daft this has become. Its like you say Cam it should have been sorted ages ago. Why not get it sorted during the chuffin lock down for a start. Dare they not take these big clubs on?
