A 2-0 win and it was embarrassment.

If someone said to me at 5-30 we would win 2-0 I would have been very pleased indeed. When Norwich pressed the self destruct button twice in the 10 minutes leading up to half time , like many other Clarets I was expecting a few more in the second half. How wrong I was. We seemed to treat the game as a practice match, and even though we had all the possession , we never looked like scoring until Norwich helped us once again. We even had to be grateful to Pope for saving us from further embarrassment. It was only 1-0 at the second half drinks interval and I was expecting SD to at least get the players to play with more urgency ,going into the final quarter but it never happened. Instead we played the same as before like we were playing against 11 men. Yes the game was probably over long before, but here was our chance to make a statement. It never happened. It was if we had players on the pitch who didn’t know what to do next. I also don’t know why we kept playing the long ball into the box. All we had to do was keep the ball and wait for the opportunity to come along. I’ve never been so disappointed when we’ve won a game.

I missed the game - but am not surprised....theres a fixed routine, its ingrained in them - and they'll play like it whatever, angainst whoever - it's how Burnley have managed to stay in the PL imho - perhaps that go-for-it freedom that I think you were looking for "mal" - has been drilled out of them - sure, we dont score many, but against a bottom of the league 9 men team....is somewhat Sad.

End of season with nothing riding on the game except keeping a clean sheet to help Nick along the way and we win 2-0 to complete a double over a team who have been one of the media's darlings because they play attractive football, just like Villa and Bournemouth and Watford etc., etc. ad nauseam.
Results matter and this was our 15th win of the campaign, it was also our 8th clean sheet in the last 15 games in which we have won 8 drawn 6 and lost 1 ---yes, I am so embarrassed, I do hope that we can emulate Norwich next season just to keep our fans happy.

Totally agree Super, we managed the game very well and never gave them a chance. Well, apart from the deflected shot that Nick saved.

The lads, who must be knackered, played it spot on for me against a 9 man defence.

    I'm a happy chap tonight.

I was happy enough with the win, even against 9 men I wasn't expecting Barcelona and a hatful of goals in the second half, that was never going to happen. We did the job and came away with three points, nowt else matters, but I have to admit, if I'd been a neutral and not a Burnley fan, I'd have switched off before half-time, it was garbage.

If I had been a neutral I wouldn't have bothered watching at all.

An already relegated side against a team in tenth place? It would have been as Pointless as the program I would have watched.

I missed the second half because one of my sons turned up today with his family who we have not seen since December. We went out for a meal together and thoroughly enjoyed it and it was good for them because he works as a Paramedic in London and his wife is a GP in Sheffield and it was just great to see our grandchildren after such a long time -----and we won!

Where did you go Sub, I'm always on the look out for somewhere to eat out for when we're up there again. We know quite a few decent places but another one to add to the list would be welcome.
