    Cal Roberts

Should one of the bigger clubs decide to grab him after his Wembley hat trick, what sort of fee would he command? On another note, on my brief daily peruse through the emergency Covid bog roll that is the NEP, I'm sure that if it was the other team at Wembley, the whole thing would be in red and white. Maybe they'll ramp it up on game day.

We gave him a long contract presumably with the expectation of people wanting to come in for him so that should raise our asking price to a reasonable amount hopefully. Just as Blyth were, we're a stepping stone for him as he's clearly got the ability and intentions to get back playing at as high of a level as possible.

I still think it's mad Newcastle seemingly let him slip away just because they changed managers, Rafa Benitez had him on the bench in the premier league

So, what would be a reasonable amount? I'm out of the loop regarding transfer fees in the UK.

How sad that people on here are considering one of our most exciting young players in years purely in terms of his worth in the transfer market. It makes us no better than the money-grabbers in the Premier League who are frequently slagged off on here.
What about the potential he offers Notts? Let's value him for the here and now rather than his weight in gold.

Unfortunately, it's the money-grabbers in the Premier League who call the shots. Once they came in with offers for young talent like Dongda He and Kion Etete there was nothing at all we could do to keep them, and it will be the same with Roberts. If a bigger club make an offer, the best we can hope for is to make a bit of cash on the deal to finance the next promising kids we spot.

I'd expect 6 figures, that's what we paid for Enzio, Hemmings and Dennis and he's younger than all of them. We did spend less on Alan Judge but he was taking a step down so I guess that affects it. It also depends how well his form carries on next season and what division we're in, he seemed to be getting better and better as this season went on and if he kept that momentum going in League 2 it would only raise the fee more but at the moment I'd guess 100-200k with add ons, there's not many Jamie Vardy million pound fee's for players in the National League going around but you never know

He's stated that He wants to play has high as he can, and who can blame him, so let's enjoy him while he's with us for how long who knows

Very romantic Sid, but we all know what's going to happen. When is the question, closely followed by how much?

Lets hope Roberts helps us back to the football league, that in it self will be worth more than can be said

Keep him for as long as he wants to stay, but his worth will be more if he can show his talents in the Football League.
