Can't believe that film is 38 years old tomorrow, seems like yesterday when I first watched it. Flicking through the old TV tonight, I came across it and yes, I couldn't resist watching it again.

Based loosely on the Iranian embassy siege, it showed the rest of the world why we had and probably still have, the best crack regiment team in the world.

Sadly Lewis Collins who played the lead role has passed. I remember his Professionals, Body role, along with Martin Shaw. Great TV programme in the day.

Any old films spring to mind you wouldn't mind seeing again?

I generally prefer old films just as I prefer old England. Three I enjoy watching, each in it's own way evoking a spirit of Britishness, are Hobson's Choice (1954) with great performances by Charles Laughton and Brenda De Banzie; The Sea Shall Not Have Them (1954) and The Yangste Incident (1957) with Richard Todd even better than in The Dambusters and William Hartnell. Great Stuff. Makes me want to sing Land of Hope and Glory if the BBC will allow it!

Shaw shank redemption. Watched it many times. Is that classed has an old film. Also Dunkirk with John Mills, Black n white.

Saturday night, Sunday morning. Albert Finney taking the lead role, and Hylda Baker (a very funny comedian in her day).
Love the house and pub interiors, reminds me of my youth.
