    International caps

They seem to given them away now for all nations.
Bobby Hope and Daugie Fraser 2 caps each,Ally Robinson no caps in the days when Scotland would'nt pick you unless you played in Scotland. Ollie Burke's now on 14.

    England caps aren’t worth s h I t t I n g in these days.

Laurie,Cyrille and Statham probably didn’t get a dozen between them whilst London based players like Sansom and planks like Paul Mariner got games.

Statham’s treatment stillwinds me up 40 years later.

International matches are just a waste of time these days. FIFA has been corrupt for decades, evidence the next World Cup, being held in a desert dump as a result of bribery (allegedly)! The England team just seem to go through the motions of just turning up, the performances are awful. If I were a member of the England team I would be ashamed of myself for those recent non-events. Mick is correct, the caps are worthless.

Actually, it’s another example of money ruining football. I’m pretty fed up with it.

It certainly ain't like it used to be, no personalities in the game anymore - this got me thinking about whether those who watched football from the 60's through to the 80's felt the same about changes to the game?

Hey Villa fan, did Tony Morley & Gary Shaw ever get a fair chance with England ?. It bugs me that Tony Daley did, even though he clearly wasnt up to it.

Morley was a one season wonder albeit a stellar season.

Shaw was a class finisher.........a career ruined by Gary Bowyer trying to yank him to his feet after a foul which then wrecked his knee as he pulled him up.

I really felt for Gary Shaw, such a freak incident.

Is that right Mick ?, I never knew that. And I didnt know that Shaw's career ended soon because of injury anyway. A lot like Norman Whiteside then, even though he was a NorrnIrrron lad.

Statham was rock solid Mick. Totally agree. We have been an "Unpopular" club among those who actually make the decisions for decades now.
