    Experienced or past it !

Signing experienced proven strikers approaching the end of their careers never quite works out for us. Even Sir Geoff Hurst never contributed much. In the last 20 odd years or so without much thought I can think of John Hartson, Anelka , Lambert, and now Austin.
N****wo Kanu divided opinion as well

Can anyone remind me of any player 31+ that has actually delivered anything like their pedigree suggested? Strikers that is.

I saw the title of the thread and I thought it was going to be about us; experienced or past it? Maybe both!

I think N Kanu may have been just under 30 when we signed him. Maybe Geoff Horsfield is another.

To add to the 'never quite works our' list Gerry Armstrong. Nice guy he was tutor on a coaching course I did in the 90's
