Great accounts if we manage another season staying up again.![]()
I wonder if the EPL can survive and keep on splashing this amount of Wonga...

The £475m shortfall predicted for the PL tV would be £23.5m per club on average without the £250m the EFL wants that’s another £12.5m I think the £300m TV rebate has been staggered over several seasons so it will be less than that this year Our loss of gate income will probably be only around £10m-£15m of the £750m total.
Then there is the risk that the virus stops play and TV games aren’t played. In Scotland that’s a 3-0 loss for the club pulling out.
Our losses won’t be that big as most income is TV not gate related but it’s a massive £30 - 35m hole.
No wonder MG is a worried man he’s in the real world, not a top 6 parallel universe.

It's great to have you back OC, I was getting worn out battling away on my own to drum some sense into this lot on here.![]()
We are expected to lose between 6-7 milllion in matchday income from home games if there are no crowds this season. Man Utd are expected to lose over 100 million if that happens. Leeds and Villa spent close to 100 million each in the transfer window, but it's hard to see where the income to pay for this will come from.
I think we were right to keep our spending low and absolutley right not to pay the silly prices Liverpool and Forest were asking. Prices should be going down, not up! Clubs need to keep a very close eye on expenses and Liverpool should be offloading players who they think will never make it into their frst team, not keeping them on the wage book. Come January we will see a different story, as the fall in income starts to bite.
I think that Jimmy Dunne's decent performances means we don't need a championship centre back as cover, and certainly not one at 10 million. Benson looks OK as cover. Both players have a way to go, but they are good enough to come in if needed for a couple of games.
The big turn around will be when Ben Mee returns.
BC love the icon its iconic.
We also lose money from catering and shop sales as you’ll see on the £17m loss of income thread.
You are right, Liverpool dropped one getting greedy over Harry Wilson then a half price last day of sale reduction and he’s still there.
I think you’re also right on the youngsters, we need to give more a chance. Sink or swim, at least they could feel they had an opportunity and we get to see what they are like.
This site says Ben Jay and Matt will return Oct 17 - Hurrah

OC-- I would love to see the youngsters given a chance, however, if it doesn't work out a big majority of our fans would be on Sean's back saying that he should have done this, that or the other. They would also be on Mike Garlick's back because of the lack of investment in new players etc., etc.
Only time will tell whether we come through this and remain a PL club, however, the bottom line is that we will still have a club and I have a feeling that there will be fans of a few other clubs who, sadly, will not be able to say that.
