A little bit of luck needed?

I've been as critical of our performances this season as the next man but I got to thinking about what has happened and perhaps felt a little less critical. Yes, we were outplayed by Lecester, Southampton and Fulham but let's look at the rest.

We lost 2-5 to Everton but were well in the game until reduced to ten men at the end of the first half. Chelsea equalised in the 92nd minute, Spurs got their winner in the 88th minute after our defence had kept their free scoring strike force quieter than any other side to date. The two other games that we drew could have gone our way especially against Brighton.

It can be claimed that it's our fault that we had a man sent off and that the game is decided over the full ninety minutes but how many times do you see a side getting battered but come away with something e.g. Newcastle against Spurs. We just haven't had that little bit of luck that can make a difference. That's all I'm saying.

You are right Leicester a little bit of luck goes a long way! Quality does come in to it too - Johnstone should have done better with that goal yesterday and at least one of the goals against Chelsea. Not being harsh but Foster would have done so much better and we have lost three points we can't afford to lose. Don't get me wrong Johnstone is a decent shot stopper but his positional play and indecisiveness is a joke! Quality is the key word so compare Gallagher to Sawyers or Livermore - he's 20 for f ucksake and complete class compared to those two! Villa have done well too - it's that bit of quality again - I said Watkins last year was sheer class and he's proving to be! Watkins cost approx 10 million more than Diangana and I know which one of the two I would have and 10 million seems like small change between the difference.

I don't mind losing as long commitment and effort is there and it was yesterday! That said - I would rather we have lost yesterday to a super unstoppable strike than the poxy goal yesterday which again was a lack of quality!

I am a believer of bygones should be bygones and not to include Grosicki in the squad is not only childish but a f uckin joke as he's miles better than Phillips. Likewise Gibbs is a far better player than Townsend and it's the experience and quality aspect again.

You probably earn and deserve luck, and just don’t ”get it”, esp in the long run.

I think we have def problems getting the ”whole act together”, and that comes down to quality, and lack of it in our case.

We have had games where we seem to not show up at all: Leicester 2nd half, Southampton, Fulham and Brighton 1st half.

And games where we achieve things going forward but are sh**e defending: Everton, Chelsea, Leicester 2nd half.

And games where we defend properly but don’t create enough going forward: Burnley, Spurs.

    The whole act, yes...
