    FA Trophy 3rd Round

We have been drawn away to either Blyth Spartans or Morpeth Town in the third round of the Buildbase FA Trophy.

The two sides, both based in Northumberland, will contest their second-round tie on Tuesday 15 December and we'll face the winners on Saturday 19 December.

Blyth, Cal Roberts' former club, are currently bottom of the National League North while Morpeth lie 16th in the division below.

Further details on the fixture will be announced in due course.

While it would be embarrassing to lose to either of these sides, it would at least allow us to concentrate on the race for 7th place.

    Isn’t Liam Noble at Morpeth?
To be honest I would be happy to get knocked out of this competition unless NA is going to give those players that don’t play a run out. I couldn’t cope if we played a strong side and then the excuse of fatigue is used when we lose the following league game.

We'll be playing Morpeth Town as Blyth have had to pull out the FA Trophy due to Covid. Cal Roberts will be dischuffed I suspect.

Bugger, we're staying a few miles from Morpeth. Very frustrating not being able to watch.

Who was the last club we played more North than Morpeth Town?

I think you might be right, 4th November 1980 we played Kilmarnock away before the return leg at ML. Can't think of any other club we've played that far North competitively since the Anglo-Scottish Cup.
Friendly wise, didn't we play a game in Norway during the Trew era?

Good, they'll be down to 10 men after half an hour with any luck. Alternatively he'll score a screamer.
