Thread: Which countries will next leave the European Union?

Which countries will next leave the European Union?

Judging from what political commentators across the EU and MEPs are saying the next 3 are likely to be Italy, Netherlands and Denmark.

But sentiment towards leaving also exists in Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.

Eire is shortly going to be the 5th largest net contributor to the EU 2021 to 2027 budget, so there is now little love for the EU over there.

In Europe I'm with Frenchlion. Hungary and Poland seem particularly reluctant to participate willingly so best to get rid.

Listening to Lord Heseltine earlier today, he seems to agree with George Osborne that, as a consequence of Brexit, the likelihood of the United Kingdom disintegrating has increased significantly.

He expects Scotland to go first, followed by Northern Ireland and Wales. He didn't mention Cornwall though.

One of the original concepts (though not written) of the European Union was to ensure that nationalism (not to be mistaken for patriotism) would cease to exist. It was created mainly by the Germans,French and Italians to stop once and for all to keep kicking the ****e out of each other every 20 years. If only for that, it has been a success.
Countries like Poland and Hungary do not adhere to the concept but enjoy all the benefits in subsidies and phuck knows what else. I would not be surprised if they are both expelled in the not too distant future. As they do not use the Euro I don’t think it would be such an upheaval.
Concerning the UK, I can’t see it disintegrating, though on a personal note, and being of Irish origine,
I have never understood how the island could be divided in to north and south. Maybe one day it will become united again but I doubt in my life time.

There will be a scottish referendum, not for some time though, you cant have one every five years. By the time it happens the home nations will realise that leaving the EU was an enormous benefit, and to vote to leave would be pretty stupid.

Parliament cannot leave the Eu without granting the same rights to everyone else. When it comes, it will be hardly noticed, only the hardened will take any notice.

Scotland leaving will never happen, because you would be stupid to do so, and an act of serious self harm. Most scots will get cheap coke. etc. he he.

The Croatian wouldn’t be a member of the extreme right wing nationalist party by any chance?
