I declare the pub open for Christmas with effect from now. It’s official, I also declare Christmas STARTED.
You can have a complementary virtual drink and one free Christmas record on the jukebox in the corner.
I’m having a pint of mild (yes, really) and Run With the Fox by Chris Squire..
Form an orderly queue and feel free to ogle the barmaid’s melons.

Not sure about the music, Pete, but I like a drop (bucket) of red myself. Have you tried Jam Shed?
Jam Shed is very nice as well.
Ill have " let it be " by the Beatles and a jd and coke. Its hard to believe you might not be here soon.
Then ill have "three wheels on my wagon" by the new christy minstrels,
Can we assume that isn’t a Wetherspoons establishment and we are allowed to buy a European red?
If so, after a quick pint of bitter, I’d start with something relatively light from Italy (maybe a Barbera D’Alba) and then move onto Spain for a slightly heavier Rioja (first choice Marques de Caceres).
If the landlady is not averse to putting her melons on a plate, she may be up for giving me a Prosciutto e Melone on the side.
On the jukebox…. back to the UK for Waterloo Sunset by the Kinks.
Isn't Europe great!

Of course we sell European red, but there will, of course, be a 200% surcharge, and you’ll also have to buy some fish.
I won't carp about the surcharge if the wine is good enough.
Last time I was in Carlisle I had some excellent Haddock (The Fryery on Newtown Road), but if I have to buy fish in the Cummintomy Arms I think I will put more money in the jukebox and go for a Scottish Fish that can sing:-

I'll have a Caesar (with Walter, not Clamato).
In fact for the uninitiated, a Caesar is effectively a Bloody Mary with the addition of clam broth. So locally produced Vodka, Walter (tomato juice and clam broth) a few dashes of tabasco and double the amount of Worcestershire sauce (than tabasco). I also add a dash of freshly squeezed lemon juice and serve on the rocks.
(It goes really nicely with a bacon sandwich, if you're feeling frisky).
Jukebox tune: "We Wish You The Merriest" by Frank Sinatra & Bing Crosby.
It's like having the old school Wheel bouncers punch you in the face until you willingly accept the spirit of Christmas.
You can get Clamato here, but I’m not sure about Walter. I bought Clamato for the younger Canadian in-laws last time they were over.
