Barnsley v Derby County Match Thoughts

Well this is our game in hand and if we can overcome Shreks mob tomorrow night it would really cement our place in the top 6 .

We'd be four points above 7th placed Bournemouth and 6 above 8th placed Cardiff equal games with 11 to go .

The only reason I'm slightly worried isn't the fact we are facing Shrek's Rams it's the fact we are seeking our 8th consecutive win in the championship.

Something surely has to give ....... doesn't it ?

Well not necessarily with this hungry young group and HC who can clearly see the opportunity in front of them .

Rack up win number 8 on the bounce and we'll take some stopping in my opinion .

Massive game, 3 points and the prospect of play offs is very much on. Defeat and again away at Bournemouth on Saturday could equally leave us just short.

If Derby laik their usual build from the back type game then we'll beat them. Teams have tried to change their way of playing against us in recent games with no joy. I can't see Rooney going long ball if I'm honest. However, they need a result so thuz no telling what Rooney's tactics will be.

We are now getting to the stage of the campaign what I refer to as 'silly season' where some unexpected results start cropping up, bottom teams beating top teams in their own back yard against the odds.

Personally I think that the form book guz arta window from now onwards. If tha starts thinking that because teams are near the bottom and we should be beating them etc then tha crackers. Personally I think the teams to be laikin at this stage of the season are the mid table ones who's players are already thinking abart their summer holidays. Wiv to laik Boro, Preston and Luton who tha can put in that mid table bracket. Rest o our fixtures the teams ev summat to laik fo.

I think it will be a difficult one to navigate this one, Derby have pulled off some good results against top six clubs, beating Norwich City, Bournemouth and Swansea.

Will we have enough in the tank for this one? then I think we may well just manage it. A four point cushion will do just nicely going into Saturday’s game on the South Coast.

Word of warning: The referee Keith Stroud.

Every match over the last few months has been a struggle.
It needed a world class goal from Dike to get passed Birmingham.
Ive been thinking at some point we will batter someone.
I’m now starting to change my mind.
Every match to the end of the season is likely to be a battle.
And this is likely to be another hard fought game.
    2-0.

I still cant believe we're in this position, of talking abaart the possible Play offs, in the Champship, in the year of 2021.

Ok its Derby next up for us at home, and obviously for me its the biggest game of the season so far. And thats got nowt to do with who the opposition are (or who they think they are either!).

The weather forecast doesn’t look good for tonight, if the match is on the strong winds will make this match a lottery.
