I still ant red it all i want it on here read it on there and post it on here deffo bbc report fantastic prospect rocket of shot emile heskey at least if were not involved in sale theres some back handers and there his in football.
I don’t know how this could pan out.
But on the face of it - a big bid from a top Premier club is great news for Barnsley.
According to Dane and Orlando City a fee has been agreed.
If Barnsley pay that fee - as long as it’s not bigger than $10 million - say £3 million - then as far as Barnsley are concerned they can’t lose on the deal.
But IMO Barnsley need to keep hold of Dike for at least another 1 to 2 full seasons.
At 20 years old his value can only increase.
The new Lukaku.
The only way Dike will be at Oakwell next season is if we are in the Premier League in my opinion .
I'd be amazed if he's a red shirt on next season and we are still in the championship .
Even at £3m he's double our record transfer fee paid and this is coming off the economic effects of a pandemic .
I just don't see it .
The situation in my opinion looks to be deliberately clouded with conflicting statements coming from Orlando and Grove Street .
It's not ourselves who have put him in the European market limelight , it's Orlando who have done that , all we have done is to be offered the opportunity .
My instinct is to go back to an old saying , possession is 9 tenths of the law and Dike is an Orlando player and whilst he remains an Orlando player we have very little say in his short term future in my opinion .
Its just like all other matters down there. No clear statement from the club leads to speculation, people second guessing whats going on. Some even come on here and try to tell you this or that is factual when its just their opinion on matters.
It does my head in, being secretive just for the sake of it. Ive said it before but a statement of fact from the club giving just enough detail would suffice. In this case for example Dike is on loan until xx/xx/xx and we have a contractual right to buy at the end of that period. Or whatever else is the truth. No need to mention fees because they dont like doing that.
Wouldnt that be better for us all?
Well Ethel let's consider this .
Let's say the club have a written and legal document that says Dike is our player in the summer at £2m .
Let's say Dike bombed , couldn't settle and was way out of his depth in the championship .
You'd imagine the club wouldn't sign up to such an agreement .
So in my opinion this works the other way too from the Orlando end .
Dike is a hit and looks an outstanding prospect , would that £2m fee still stand ?
Me neither Ethel .
I get your point Animal but if hes a dud dont sign him, decline the right to buy.
If hes a prospect, as appears to be the case , enforce the clause.
Orlando must have agreed to that transfer fee included in the contract therefore they get what they are happy with and we get the player at a price we have pre agreed.
Isnt that a win-win if he transfers or a no lose-no lose if he doesnt? Both clubs happy.
Am I looking at this too simplistically?
