Gillingham Can't Afford Refunds on Season Tickets.

Gillingham chairman Paul Scally says he can't afford to refund season
    ticket money at present.
The chairman says the issue as given him sleepless nights but, in the
current climate, Gillingham simply don't have the cash.
The supporters missed out on 5 home games of the 2019-20 season,
while the whole of 2020-21 season was played behind closed doors,
    due to covid 19.
Paul Scally has told fans he can't afford any season ticket refunds.

In a open letter to supporters, Paul Scally said " The income we received
from your early season ticket purchases, has played a big part in
getting us through to now ".
" There is no easy way of saying this but, given our limited income since
March 2020, we don't at present have the ability to refund you, nor can
we carry refunds over to next season, even given we need season ticket
income to get us through the next 3/6 month's, to when other income
    streams open up ".

I`m amazed nobody went out of business last season, most lower league clubs need season ticket sales to survive.

They will never have enough money while S/E is their manager.

Steve Evans is after signing Alan Judge on a free transfer, but there is wages to pay,
where is the money coming from for that, if the club have not got money to pay
    fans money back.

Just wait until the furlough scheme finishes.

I'd be interested to see a breakdown of clubs across the divisions who sold season tickets last year and either have to refund them or roll them over to this year (meaning no income through sales this summer).

Did we steal a march by not selling STs last year or was that the norm throughout the League I wonder?

Also, how many clubs refunded end of 2020 season or donated to club. Some of us also paid for a membership for last season on the hope of a game to attend.
Maybe we'll get a friendly game to watch as reward.

I paid into that last season and don’t want anything back but I’m lucky in that I don’t need the money.

They should make the Club pay back any money owed to the fans before signing players.
