Once a Red, Always a Red

Following Melissa's (Dane's fiancee) deletion from the Academy structure as Chief Operations Officer on June 21 st it now emerges that listings on Companies House show Dane Murphy has been removed as a "Director" at Barnsley FC as from July !st.
It is reported they are currently in the USA.

Surely fans should be told what is going on ?

You can understanding why an Head Coach moves on - his wages will be astronomical.
Wages will be in the £££millions.
Probably 3 or 4 times what he would get at Barnsley.
But is that the same for a CEO ?
Are we talking £100k to £300k difference in wages?
If it is - then why is he leaving?
If the directors thought he was doing a good job - then you would think they would have fought to keep him.
But nothing has been said by the club.
To date - not even a thank you.

Dane was an employee as CEO as well as having Director shares. He did Lee/ Conway's bidding. For example his main job around March/ April was to sell Season Tickets. He took advantage of the feel good factor around that time and brought forward the usual selling period of cheaper tickets by a month. He dangled the prospect of signing Dike saying we had an option to buy him, agreed with Orlando, for around what we normally pay for a player (Herbie Kane is our record fee paid in the last 20 years at £1.25 mill). He kept saying we were close to Mowatt signing an extension to his contract. Fans were giddy and hooked at the prospect of watching Premiership football at relatively cheap prices and buying kids tickets to take their kids along with them so Dane had fans in his pocket with slick marketing.
Some would say he was being fan friendly, others would say he was pillakin fans to increase sales to a level acceptable to the sponsors. It would be interesting to know the breakdown of adult/ old git and kids tickets sold of the proclaimed 10,000/ 11,000 sold

Nothing different from any other CEO you would have to be very gullible to think other wise just the thought of us in the prem would have made ticket sales go up there will be a few thousand regretting buy a season ticket,
mowatt was always going you knew that simply because he refused to talk about contracts until his run out even though there was a good offer on the table and there was no way on this planet that we was going to pay £18,000,000 for a player even if we got to the prem.

early bird season tickets were around with cheap kids tickets long before we got taken over
he did his job and did it very well no surprise that other clubs want him.
we are no different to any other club who hide there finances and only say what needs to be said.
your book shelves must be full of conspiracy theory books.

You were quite right not to believe what Honest Dane was saying about Dike and Mowatt.

No local people and therefore fans other than James Cryne involved in running the club .

The days of Michael Spinks are long gone , sad but true .
