New scanners, just swipe the card at the front, chip in card so don’t put near mobile phone

Paper tickets go through the usual way under the scanner which I know works, hope the front part works on Saturday

It’s something called an NFC. It’s the same technology that is in a contactless debit card or things like Apple Pay.

E match tickets are being issued with a Q code that replaces the bar code.
These are sent to a smart phone so it's now completely paperless and presumably There must have been an upgrade to the scanners.
For people who don't have smart phones or don't like technology then paper tickets can be collected at the ticket office.

Why dont they implant the fans with the chips, it will prevent miss use when people lend their cards to other people

If you have been double jabbed then sensors will pick up the micro chip and let you in.

If not you will be sprayed with disinfectant and sent to the county borough.
