The fans posts on Facebooks in response to this dismal display regarding the manager are a bit OTT.

I haven't counted it but on balance there appears to be significant numbers wanting GA sacked.

Isn't it a bit soon? He inherited one of the worst squads in 10 years and surely he should be allowed time to gut and rebuild?

Some of those are even saying Robinsons tactics were so much better than GA's. I'm not buying that. We played terrible football most of the time under Robbo.

Sacking him now would be mental but even in transition you need to show a little bit of gumption, direction and enough results to suggest you're not going to get relegated while moving to where you're trying to go. Rightly or wrongly if we don't take four points from the next two the serious pressure will be on.

I think his public/media persona doesn't help him in this regard which is obviously not the be all and end all but he's clearly not the cheerleader type who is going to get fans on board with his 'project' in the way some other managers do.

With that said, I wonder if the club could have been a little bolder in giving the medium-term goal more prominence in an attempt to keep the wolves from the door. It's understandable to an extent that we don't want to risk over-promising and under-delivering, especially when the pandemic is still on, but we've made the recruiting change that everyone called for, we're spending money on more established players and handing out longer contracts, the fact many people are apparently calling for the manager's head *before the first proper transfer window of the new plan is even complete* suggests there's been a communication failure somewhere...

Calls for GA to be sacked or go just now are miles wide of the mark, as it’s too early yet and our issues run deeper than the manager, as I’ve already said.

That said I wouldn’t be atall surprised if he decided to walk away sooner rather than later. He just seems utterly scunnered.
