    Sheffield Wednesday Post Match Thoughts

A key player injured, a penalty missed, a home loss to a local rival. All this and it's only just after 7am in the morning here . On the bright side we won 8-0 on corners Two wins and two losses and it looks like we'll be mid table by the end of play today.

    Thoughts on today's events?

    - Like the old girls at the bingo, we are toothless.
    - We lost all the big moments.
    - Penalty save, credit to the keeper.
    - Wes getting caught trying to pinch the ball on the weak side when he HAD to protect the route to goal. Brushed off and we were done for.
    - Viktor far too lacklustre collecting the ball, too nonchalant and it squirms out. So easily avoided.
    - Ogbene injury highlights just how threadbare our options are, especially out wide and up top. Sadlier is not a winger.
    - We have no patterns of play which is most concerning. Play Dan and Rathbone together, we need footballers on the pitch.
    - They have a very strong squad for this division and we gifted them their goals so trying not to get too disheartened.
    - Please PW, encourage the lads to play on the deck, go through the lines, I'd hate to be a CM in our team.

Summed it up CAM. Key player crocked. Sadlier comes on and misses the pen. Shame it want Barlaser but can’t remember the last time we scored a pen. They score within 5 mins of the restart. We concede a calimitous second and no way back.

    Classic away win for Wednesday.

Afraid Kayode not quite good enough. We need another striker to cover and challenge Ladapo and Smith.

Dust ourselves down & go again.

Ps agree need Rathbone & Barlaser on the pitch together.

Didn't go today as I had to give a talk at Blackpool to the Charlie Cairoli Society. My dad always said Charlie impersonating a football manager at the Tower Circus was the funniest thing he ever saw. Shame he died before he could see the Humpty Dumpty/ Coco The Clown double act.

Arctic monkeys said don't believe the hype. Same about Victor after that Vickers he's got to given the goalkeepers shirt. Should never have given Warney another transfer window. Have any of his signings this season worked 2 of them aren't match fit yet. Crazy bringing players in who need a pre season when season as started. We weren't at the races today. Can't think of one player who stood out.

Poor performance from us. We never score enough when were on top, or even any. We wouldn't have scored if we played til it got dark.

Sadlier, showed today(again) that he's not very good. Great save from the goalie but can't we run up hesitate and stroke it in the other corner, or just down the middle. Maybe should have put Miller on when Ogbene went off.

That linesman flagged everything in the 1st half so it was to be expected he'd let them do thro in the 2nd. Weds thought the 2nd goal was going to be disallowed, their player asked the Ref and he nodded that it was a agoal.

Probably the worse i've seen Weds play at NYS, they didn't win today......we gave it them.......

Say's it all when the guy taken off is MOM......................we don't look like a team who will score, we need some help up front for Smith. Wouldn't be surprised if Smith walks, he must be p*ssed off with no help.

It's going to be a long season for TS & PW after that result and performance............

No noticeable bad performances today, just missing a goal that’s all. But goals change and settle games. They got em. We didn’t.
We were great first half, all over em. They were hanging on, we Slowed down a bit when chio went off. Wednesday fans silent.
Our inability to put the ball in the net spurred on Wednesday 2nd half and why not. They thought it was there lucky day again.
Think we have a good side, wiles, Rathbone and Lindsay in the middle worked well together.
Think Wednesday will feel very fortunate to go away with 3 points today.
    Disappointed but not downhearted.

Hang on, the performance was perfectly fine, a full blooded local Derby for most of which we were well on top. It was often the final ball and finishing that let us down.

JJ didn’t look out of place at all and seems to have come on with each game, needs a crash course in watching the line though.

Pen was struck well enough and it was a great save. First goal was from an error by Wes and second from a double-whammy by Wiles and Victor. All three of which are among our better players. Take those moments out off it and we would be bemoaning only drawing a game we completely dominated. Perspective lads.
