The arseoyle Conway, in the Chronicle, says he expects Barnsley FC to be a regular part of the Play Off scene.
My view is that the Ismael Hoofball Year was a freak year that may be repeated once every 20 years.
The charlatans will have legged it well before it happens again.
No pressure Mr Schopp.
Yawwwwwwwwn.
Conway plays on the fans emotions and clearly he knows which buttons to press to get the stains on the underpants .
It's best in my opinion to see how this plays out on the field rather than some American who has a part share in several clubs and absolutely no emotional ties to any of them .
The OP is pretty much spot on but I guess many won't see it .
TBF every season I expect us to be part of the playoff scene.
Mr Conway is only suggesting that the team has improved enough to be just that, and with some of the football I've seen so far, I can't deny he's got a point. We've played some great stuff for 60 minutes, so far this season, and on that evidence, some others have said we only need a slight tinkering to be a playoff contender again. Recruitment this window MIGHT be that slight tinkering, we'll have to see.
As for Val, I said in another thread, I wondered if he was a one trick pony or could he have done it different this season. The hoofball was only good for the one season before other teams found you out.
Top and bottom of this season will be as usual the january transfer window
I think we’ve regularly played some nice football over the years and have been well known for it but haven’t been able to turn it into wins at the end of the game. The amount of opposition supporters and commentators who say that we play great football year in year out is endless.
Will we go back to playing good football but not get the points at the end of the game is the question. I believe last season was a freak season for many reasons so I’ll not take too much notice of it as a guide. This season will be a better pointer for our progression as long as the world doesn’t explode again.
