    A Sad Sight.

Whilst out walking down a quiet country lane today there lay a recently dead squirrel, obviously clipped by the car that had past me 30 seconds before.

What made it sadder was seeing the acorn it had been carrying a few inches from his front paws.

You could cross that lane a 1000 times a day with your eyes shut and with ear plugs in and not encounter any vehicle.

Just out gathering a bit of food for winter and for the youngsters and it’s all over just like that.

Funny how that acorn could completely altered my thought process on that scene.

I ran over one the other day Mick, he avoided me then ran straight back. We have a squirrel here who completely strips our walnut tree single handedly. We never see a nut. Gotta hand it to the little fella.

You never know Mick - you never know! Look at Sarah Harding from Girls Aloud - died of cancer at 39 - absolutely tragic!

You can’t take money with you so enjoy every day.

Too much wildlife killed on our roads. Obviously, it is impossible to avoid an animal sometimes, especially if it runs out immediately in front of you but unfortunately, there are too many cretins with driving licences who drive at stupid speeds on country lanes; also too many cretins without licenses that drive around, a menace to humans as well as the wildlife.
