Thread: England game

    England game

We do seem to play slightly cautiously even against such world beaters as Andorra.

Makes you appreciate how we play under MB.

Paddy B had a decent first half - nothing really fallen for him. Bellingham looks very very good albeit it’s only Andorra.

Though Bamford did ok and made some intelligent runs just a shame he got very little service.

Bamford did pretty well, considering the zero service he received, yet just as the opposition starts to tire, he gets the hook, and golden boy Kane get a penalty.
Bamford should have been given another 10 -15 mins.

My thoughts exactly Bath - Grealish and Mount made a big difference when they came on. I wanted Bamf to get some decent chances but thought his running off the ball was good and he presses far better without it than Kane.

Anyone else notice Kane went and grabbed the captains armband as soon as he came on?

Watching England is like watching paint dry, slow and laborious, just as you think a pass or cross is coming in back it goes to the halfway line, Bamford makes a good run and then has to check out again as they dither, making Bamford look bad. Leeds play faster and ping the ball into him, England are frustrating and boring.

Imagine Bielsa with those players at his disposal

Safegate is way too negative and like norfolk says its boring to watch and it spoils the game for creative players.

Spot on Norfolk - my view exactly!
It gets to the point where I find myself moaning throughout the game - irrespective of who or how often we score.

Half way through the second half I think still only winning 2-0 - Andora get a throw in level with our penalty area - the Mighty, Scary team that they are - We have ALL 11 Players back in or around our box - Kane included - to defend a ****ing throw in against these minnows? Boring and embarrasing, and shows Southgates fundamentaly negative approach against every other team.

    I feel for you.

    You deserve better.

However, have to say that the 3 lions have some incredibly loyal fans. win or lose you back them.

My only thought is that they focus too much on the stars. many of them are past their prime and on huge contracts. They aren't going to make that big play that risks making them look bad or risk injury.

that's not the case with the younger players trying to prove themselves. look at Phillips vs some of the "stars" of the past that had consumed too many pies and pints
