O/T Got to say - Boris has pulled one out of the hat

Brilliant news - that final a government is going to raise taxes to try and sort out the chronic elderly health care issues.
I’m a tradition Labour voter - but you have to give credit where credit is due.

Hes also taken 1.5% of disposable income out of the public pocket at a time when we’re trying to recover from the pandemic.

Only a Tory could say that Boris has pulled one out of the hat. Yet another broken promise. Every time he opens his mouth he lies.

I remember a time when voters cared about political parties breaking their manifesto pledges .

    How times change .

I’d rather have a government that did the right thing.
    And (fingers crossed) they have.
Anyone who’s experienced these elderly care issues will know what I’m saying here.
As for ditching the manifesto - as things stand the Tories can do what they want can’t they.
    They have no opposition.

The old dears of Chipping Norton will be cracking open the Tonic Wine and pissing themselve(not on the Shackletons Chair hopefully).

Mary in Darton--modest two bed semi worth £125 k. First £20k is exempt but has to pay the money between £20k and £86k to the care home monthly leaving £39k as inheritance for kids

Isabella in Chipping Norton or anywhere in the south--same modest two bed semi but worth £350k, Same rules, Isabella gets to keep £264k as inheritance for kids.

    Levelling up ?

    Well move to Chipping Norton.
But when yer kids come to buy an house don’t be surprised if it costs a lot more than living in Darton.
