    Cricket - 5th Test Cancelled.

Due to Covid in the Indian camp.

    How convenient.

Maybe in future, the team ravaged by Covid should forfeit the match.

Apparently, none of the Indian players have tested positive; this is just an excuse to protect themselves for the IPL and other one day garbage. If ever Test cricket passes into history then the Indians will bear a large part of the responsibility; w*****s!

They should've been made to forfeit the match and the series Kets.

    This is absolute b o l l o x!

In my opinion we are playing test cricket far too late in the year in this country now which is going to lead to more of this type of IPL issue, test cricket should be done and dusted by the end of August each year.

I think we need to see what the issue was before reacting

If it just to safeguard IPL duty then India should forfeit the game, and even the series possibly
But if it a genuine case of someone testing positive it seems a bit harsh

But this point around what happens in the case of a positive test and also the schedule for the games should have been agreed and adhered to in my eyes

Absolute crap of India if it is for the reason, as they had the dates, and could have swung it to lose and made a few Bob too

I wouldn’t be al all surprised if India come up with some contrived ’explanation’ as to why they pulled out; they can say all they want but I would wager that the reason is 99.9% certainly the ghastly IPL. As in most top level ‘sport’ these days, it all about the money and **** the actual sport, **** the fans, greed rules. **** India.

Test cricket was always the pinnacle of cricket and will always be in my eyes. Except India have shown that Test cricket is no longer the greatest form of cricket and as sold its soul to the IPL. Instead of considering a reschedule of the match it should instead be forcibly declared by the ECB that the game is forfeit and the series levelled. But as we all know money talks so i doubt the ECB will take this line as loads of English players are part of this greedy IPL circus.

The IPL dominates cricket as do the Indian authorities. The IPL is usually scheduled to be played March to May each year as it was this year. Only problem was Covid put a halt on it and it was postponed until September.

Just as we have had to get used to Sky dictating so much in what happens to football in England, the cricket world is adjusting to the new reality that the IPL is the cash cow and players, broadcasters etc will dance to its tune and the fans are the ones at the end of the queue, yet again.

Friday was the day that test cricket died for me.

From this point on its meaningless seeing as it can be so easily tossed to one side.

A 50 year love affair with test cricket ended for me today, I shan’t take much notice from now on.

    F u c k you India.....an absolute disgrace!
