    Harvey Elliott injury

Has anyone else seen the Leeds v Liverpool game absolutely shocking challenge in my opinion Leeds player knew what he was doing but I seem to be in a minority Floyd Hasselbaink and Jamie Redknapp both saying it was a genuine attempt to win the ball and not anyway malicious
I played the game for many years like many on here not to any great standard I might add and have never seen a challenge like this before only one I’ve seen worse (can’t remember his name) Busst? Coventry I think he played for a few years back
I know it’s a contract sport and I’d hate to see tackles become non existent but am I overreacting?

I’ve seen it and replayed it, nasty outcome but hand on heart I can’t see any intent and that it only attracted a red card because Klopp was in the ref’s ear.

    Really good tackle imo.
The games gone. I hope Elliot makes a full recovery and I know he didn’t dive but players nowadays go down so easy it’s becoming a non contact sport so yes imo you are overreacting.

Might be not be seeing this correctly but to me it wasn’t contact with the tacklers leg in the tackle but the training leg as he slipped across the turf.

Not much of an initial reaction from the players at the time, just reaction to the injury. Looks like a straight tub and fib fracture which whilst not nice has a good chance of complete recovery

Cheers everyone it seems it’s me that’s going soft just that when I played I never used to tackle like that the angle he comes in at he’s never going to get the ball it’s almost like a scissor kick to me but thanks for your views/options

Watching it live (sky) I thought he won the ball, players didn’t react until they saw the injury so I was surprised by the red tbh

Watching in very slow motion I can see why var gave it but still I don’t think there was any intent.

I’m sure majority of us would be asking for red if it was ours though.

    Wonder if they’ll appeal it

That was a bad tackle on Dion Dublin by Eric Young on that Premier League history show.
