Another truly great player has gone to play for the great team “ upstairs”. In 1966 it was always Moore, Hurst and Peters. However ,contributions from the likes of Hunt , were always equally invaluable, even if they didn’t get the praise they should have had. A great club player, and humble off it, always happy to stay in the background, whilst others got all the glory.
A great club player too, one of the finest to play at Anfield, as the great Bill Shankly set about changing the foundations, which has since allowed Liverpool to rise from the depths of the old” second division, into the club they are today.
He must have played at the Turf. He must have scored at the Turf at some stage. The world will be a poorer place without him, especially in football circles. Anyone out there have any fond memories of watching him play ?I’d like to know.
