Absolutely dreadful and I will not dignify the players with a rating apart from Guy, Alessandra and Dickenson = 0
He didn't have much to say to BBC Cumbria .... indeed what could he say?
My lad was there, he didn’t get much stick from our loot at the end for two reasons. Firstly he didn’t go near them, and secondly most of the vociferous ones left after the second goal. We were devoid of skill and gutless today and he has to go.
I thin that CB came across fairly well in the post match interview - perhaps he is resigned to his fate? However, he manages to blame the financial strictures imposed on the club while emphasing the late transfer of Hayden and Tanner and the inabiity to keep players in the summer as key factors. I think he should look at his style of play and his failure to instigate succesful change (because it has changed) in the last 2 games.
Although its very easy to blame the board for all things that are wrong with CUFC, I really believe that Beech was the instigator in his own downfall here.
He obviously pushed the board for Cloughs signing, which so far hasn't worked.
Guy and Armer are a shadow of the players from last season.
Even though 100% committed to the cause, Mellish seems to run down blind alleys for much of the time.
Consistent high balls and long ball *******s.
Strange and baffling substitutions.
And although I do sympathise with the (late) sales of Tanner and Hayden, I don't think he can use either as an excuse, Tanner (agreed on his day an exciting young prospect) wasn't exactly pulling up trees at the time. And although Hayden was decent he was no where near the presence of a Dean Walling or a Kev Grey.
Time will tell of course but I honestly think a new manager will get a decent tune out of what Beech has left, lets hope so anyway.
COYB
Clough is good - but not with the way Beech was playing until the last two games. Guy is right off and for all his energy and desire there is a limit to what Mellish can achieve with his limted football skills.
Maybe... but he has just achieved a contract until summer of 2023.
For someone who can't even control a football he has done remarkably well.
Of all the players I have watched this season the last two I would have given long term contracts to are Guy and Mellish.
They haven't done anything to help Chris Beech.
Let's hope they get a manager they can be arsed to play for.
Apologies to Mellish.
Maybe he has been trying.
