January signings we could actually make.

I can't believe we can actually and in all seriousness start threads like this and have a proper conversation about players we could only dream of getting about 48 hours ago.

So, whoever our new manager is is going to be able to make some petty decent signings in January although we obviously need to be realistic about what level of player will want to come in at the very start of this project.

    (yes, that's right, I called it a project )

I don't follow European football so don't know about any of the up and coming players we could realistically target so will have to rely on other posters to put some names up. I was listening to Talksport (well, 5Live and radio Newcastle were talking about other news-the cheek!) and they were discussing who we might get and came up with some interesting targets.

Zaha might be worth a shot. Him on one side, ASM on the other
Rudiger at Chelsea (although I think he's a twat) isn't going to sign a new contract so who knows (unless he's off to Madrid-lurkers please note I'm not saying we've suddenly got the pulling power to entice players away from the big european clubs)?
James ward-Prowse? Massive upgrade on Shelvey.
Lingard? showed that if he's used properly and gets regular game time then he's a threat.
Aubameyang? I know he's captain but it's not going totally smoothly for him there?
Bissouma? Very good player destined for a far bigger club than Brighton...why not us?

    Thoughts/suggestions/insults.

Oh, and any mackem lurkers...how much is this hurting you? We're having ridiculous conversations about fantastic players...but we all know this will happen in the next few windows,

I'd love to see Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice here. I think Aaron Ramsey would be more realistic though in January and he seems unsettled at Juve. Definite improvement on what we've got that's for sure.

Bissouma would be a good signing...he has a great engine on him

As we're desperate for goals i think Lautaro Martinez or Paulo Dybala would be good additions. Would they get in the team infront of Joelinton though?!

But yeh....it's mental to be discussing these types of players......the other week it was 'could we sign fcking Hamza Choudary and Phil Jones on loan!'

At this stage we're in the dark about the new owners plans (in the short-term) but at least we know we've got owners who care now

Origi is available, Zinchenko, that Chelsea lad Tomori played 20 odd games last year for Chelsea. Bissouma at Brighton looks good. All available in January, young, will help us and ve good back--ups for our future superstars. 😁

I really rate Rice. I wasn't sure when he first burst on to the scene but he's a similar player to Roy Keane imo and as he's still only 22 he could get better

The current favourites are Courtinho, apprently there was contact last summer before it went tits up.

Barca very willing to sell, he's willing it's just the 200k wages that might be a problem. . . or not

Also Van Der Beck at Man Utd is another name mentioned, he wants to leave etc.

I think a lot will hinge on who the manager is.

I dont want wasted money to be thrown about because we can. I'd still like to keep an element of frugelness - but at a more sensible level than before. Theres a lot of greedy agents and teams out there.

Exactly, the 'kin agents will be rubbing their hands with glee and upping their prices for any deals with the Toon.
