I am astounded that such a topic or thread was allowed to be continued and not deleted…

This is not about sticking up for a fellow Dale fan but rather the topic which has no place in a fans forum of any kind…

I’ve only just caught up. I’ve reasons of my own for detesting the word that was used being used when it isn’t correct. It’s the worst thing that a man can be called in my own personal view. The thread has now gone. Meanwhile I’ve been in conversation with Piglet in the background and told him that those logins won’t be coming back.

I DETEST having to either ban folk or agree with a banning and I think my own count stands at two. Howoldboy - Kel and I have our reasons through brushes with the type of person mentioned so maybe our tolerance is already set a bit lower than other folk. In my own case my son was vulnerable but luckily was untouched. Please bear that in mind.

Sorry to hear of your personal issue, I was obviously not aware. We all have skeletons in our closets, mine was alcoholic related but fortunately not when I was young.

We all have our trigger points, one of mine is disability. There was a thread on our board recently I saw my ar$e over. I used to work for Remploy & look passed the “dis” and see the “ability”, equality and diversity in everyone. Our thread has a report abuse function & thankfully it was removed as well.

Fans forums should be there for the reason they exist, to comment on things related to our Clubs on & off the field.. yes threads can be non football related such as the way one on here is now talking about music & one on ours about a local resteraunt closing.. There is no place for Race, Religion, Politics or personal abuse..
We can have banter & light harted fun at the expense of things though like a certain midlands team who were 2-0 up recently against 10 men but lost 2-3 😀

Hopefully the decent posters on both our boards see the lines that are drawn and move onwards to getting back to what is important…

There’s a line, mate. Some people will cross it and their pride won’t allow them to come back.

Certain people showed their true personality last night and it was most unpleasant. Referring to it as “gentle banter”’ was actually more disgusting than the original posts it referred to. Some people have zero shame.

Banter has its place.

However, the term ‘banter’ should never be used as an excuse to humiliate, upset or abuse someone else.

What may seem like ‘bants’ to one person could be deeply offensive or upsetting to someone else.

I did see it as banter.

However others clearly didn't.

On that basis...

Sincere apologies to anyone offended by anything I said on the deleted thread.

One of my skeletons is about falling out over words..

My mum & step dad lived in a cottage next to a canal over the road from a pub. Retirement was not good to them as the temptation of 12pm > 12pm over the road took over their lives as did drinking a litre of whiskey a day.. they stopped coming to see their grandkids & only son and just sent £10 in a card for Xmas & birthdays. I found out equity release was funding it but it wasn’t about the money even though they paid £15k for the house many years before & I paid a 3rd of it.. to hear a 5 & 11 year old say “nana & grandad” don’t love us anymore was enough… huge row & did not speak for about 5 years..

Went away to Majorca for the weekend of my 50th & came back to a card & recognised the handwriting. All it said inside was 2 words… Love you …

The day after I was in the Dog.. swallowed my pride & rang them… too late, my Step Dad died that morning.. went up next day & found my mum in terrible health.. 2 & half weeks later I held her hand as she died a terrible painful death of septicaemia as her internal organs failed…

When I have been wrong as an example the case of Chalky & James Vs BDB on me saying they were more than friends.. I publicly & privately apologised…

Why am I sharing this? - Life is too short & petty things escalate.. we all say things in haste or the heat of the moment.. an apology costs nothing

I don't think that you've got any reason to apologise Howoldboy as I can't remember you saying anything offensive,you was just a part of the thread as was I
